Now that you now these important verbs, you need to know the question words we use in Spanish: ¿Cuándo?, ¿Cómo?, ¿Cuál?, ¿Dónde?, ¿Cuántos?

Using Personal Information…

Cuándo, means when and it refers to time. ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños? (When is your birthday?)

Cómo, means how and you can use it to ask someone’s name, like in: ¿Cómo te llamas? (What’s your name?); or to ask about a person’s condition: ¿Cómo estás? (How are you?).

Cuál, means what, which, or in some cases, which one. You can use cuál when asking about someone’s preferences, like in: ¿Cuál es tu color favorito? (What’s your favorite color?) or even to ask about someone’s name, last name phone number or email address: ¿Cuál es tu nombre? (What’s your name?), or ¿Cuál es tu apellido? (What’s your last name?). ¿Cuál es tu correo electrónico? (What’s your email address?).

Dónde, refers to space. It means where. You can use it to talk about locations, like in this example: ¿Dónde vives? (Where do you live?)
