Phone Calls

Do You Know How to Answer the Phone in Spanish?

Phone calls are hard to take some times in your native language.  With outside noise and bad connections it can be really difficult to understand what the person on the other side of the line is telling you.

In this lesson you will learn different expressions you can use when talking on the phone in Spanish.  During the first part, you will watch an informal phone call, where the person requested will be in a difficult position and unable to answer the phone.

In the second situation, you’ll see an example of a formal context, in an office setting, where a secretary tries to reach her boss who is super busy and can’t pick up in that moment.

All in all, you’ll learn how to pick up the phone, ask to speak with a person, ask who is calling, ask to leave a message and say bye in both formal and informal contexts.
